Share A Story
The real impact of our YMCA is not the thousands of people served, but the impact that we collectively have on the lives of individuals. I cannot tell you how many times members and parents stop to tell me about the difference the YMCA has made in their lives or the lives of their children.  It is most often related to a front-line staff person; a camp counselor, member service staff, or maybe a wellness instructor. These moments remind me that the magic of our work is in the relationships that we build. In an effort to more effectively tell our story, I would like to invite you to share your stories!
Simply submit a short story about the impact of the YMCA on the life of someone or some family that we are currently serving. We will review these stories and you may see them displayed in one of our facilities or featured in an upcoming member or donor newsletter.
Great stories are easy to write and should include the following:
- Factual Information – Here are the facts…., name of the individuals served (if published we will change name), appropriate background information.
- Meaningful Information – This is what happened…
- Emotional Information – This is why it is important…
- Personal information – This is the difference that was made and how it has impacted me…
So, go ahead and give it a try. If your story is published, we look forward to recognizing your efforts with a small token of appreciation.
